Learning About Cultures

In my effort of helping children gain knowledge and understanding of new cultures I plan to organize a day where students will get introduced to a new culture. I will need help from parents. I need help in the following areas:
I need about 4 persons to speak about their culture
If you can not help physically please send your child with a cultural object such as a blanket or traditional clothing to show to the class
I need help setting up the classroom for that day
I will be sending home a handout of additional details and information.
Please contact me if you are interested in helping out with this innovative lesson I hope to plan for your children. I do not have a date for this yet, since I need to arrange dates with parents.

Career Week Is Coming Up!

The students are so excited because career day is approaching. Career day will last a whole week and we have many speakers coming to our school. Parents you are welcome to come. Bring your cameras to take pictures of the students and our guest. Career week begins July 15- July 19.

Math Tutorials

A few weeks ago I sent out some letters informing parents of their children's educational progress. As many of you know some students need additional help with math. I encourage parents to take advantage of this years after school math tutorials. I will be sending out permission slips this week. Ms. Christen is an expert in mathematics and will be working with the students. In addition to obtaining help with math students will receive snacks. The after school tutorials will begin July 1 and will end August 1. Contact me or post your question or comment.
